Association for Government Employees

Association for Government Employees

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the largest federal employee union representing 670,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas. Workers in virtually all functions of government at every federal agency depend upon AFGE for legal representation, legislative advocacy, technical expertise and informational services.

Goals

  • Update look and feel to help the organization come across as trustworthy and modern.
  • Make it easier to understand, and ultimately take action on, what the key issues were that would potentially be important to AFGE members.
  • Provide clear information for the individual government agencies to report on specifics for their members.

After a few years of working with associations and government organizations, the whole red white and blue schema was getting tiring. But of course, the association for government employees had to be patriotic. To blend the patriotism with something that didn't smack you across the face with an eagle, I added yellow in as the key call to action color. This, combined with the contrast of the blue backgrounds and white content areas helped modernize the association, I believe.
